First lapbook class at Tots University 17 Jan 2010

I have stopped Amanda's LNT class for the time being as I wanted her to join the lapbook class at Tots University. I could have let her continue LNT and add on this class but I do not want to overload her especially since she is starting childcare on 18th Jan 2010.

I have been following Shirley's blog for sometime and is interested in her lapbook classes. She has done really impressive work with her own sons.

The class Amanda attended is for 22months to 3 years old. During the class , Amanda is more attentive during the story telling and singing of rhymes. When it comes to doing matching activities (using pencil) and art and crafts, she is more interested in the pencil and the glue haha!

Nevertheless, this is expected as Amanda is really active and cannot keep still for long. She enjoys dancing singing and interacting with others but I find her attention span really short.

I must say I like Shirley's ideas and the activities though Amanda is unable to do all of them the way it should have been done.

However, I hope to help her improve on her attention and concentration span overtime. Last night, I took out the lapbook again and this time we managed to match two pictures with words before she starts monkeying around again. I see that as a slight improvement. I must remember to work on that!

Play doh time! This was taken new year's day long weekend when I was busy doing housework and daddy was at work. To entertain her, I took out the playdoh to let her play. Well, it did entertain her but not for long..

Shopping at Jusco

Daddy brought us to Seng Kang to *SEE* kites

The sky is full of kites. My camera is unable to capture those really tiny ones. In the evening, its even more *kua Zhang* We were so amazed and its at Seng Kang!

Its really hot in the afternoon. Look at Amanda's eyes. She can hardly open them. I wonder how they can fly kites under such the hot sun.
