Feb 08 Babies BD Bash at JWT

22nd Feb 09 was the feb 08 babies birthday bash at JWT! Party was from 10 am till 12pm. Its was a busy weekend. Having gone to Timbre the night before, we all woke up late and it was a frantic rush to get ready to go to JWT at UE Square.

It was a great party! Babies and parents all enjoy it very much! I like it that the babies have plently of room to roam and explore as babies at their age are hyperactive. They also conducted a series of fun activities! It was my first visit to such a fun filled activities packed party. Will have a chance to go back there again as we were all given a free trial coupon. Needless to say, Amanda KO after the event in the car, waking up late to eat her lunch and KO again... haha peace to the parents hee hee....

First Visit to Timbre!

We visited Timbre on 21st feb 09 evening. We include me, hubby, baby Amanda, my mum, my second sis and my auntie's family. Here is the place mentioned :http://www.timbre.com.sg/about.htm

Before you start wondering what are the young and old doing at this happening place which serves liquor,has no warm water, no baby chair and has live band playing, let me explain. Its my little sis 21st birthday party! Its meant to be a surprise party for her. Her friends brought her there and she not knowing that we have all planned this with her friends "was supposed" to be surprised. Well, however before the party, she and her friends met my mum and the other sis on the street and she already smelt a rat...... but nevertheless, she is still happy I think ba (hor Fengling?)

The atmosphere was great, food was good and the band was wonderful. Even Amanda enjoyed the music and being the "oldest" there, she was called on stage to sing a birthday song to her Ah Yi!

Amanda's First Birthday Celebration on 15th February 2009

Daddy initally said we will have a simple celebration but I would not have it his way. So there I was cracking my brain over where to hold the party, minnie mouse or hello kitty theme and which date shall we have the party etc while daddy washed his hands off it.

Haha as it was nearer to the date, Daddy became more involved automatically. He even asked me to have more balloons decor and hired someone to take the photos. As we could only booked the function room one month in advance. We could only start to book the function room at the beginning of Jan 09. We went to the management's office on the 1st sat of Jan 09 and the fucntion room was already fully booked on the 15th! Only 14th feb 09 afternoon was left and the timing was not ideal. After discussing, we decided to have it at the bbq pavillion.

I was the kan cheong spider, chasing daddy for the guest list, booking of caterer all that but he always burshed it aside saying that "still got time". I hate to do this last minute but Daddy will only settle things when its near. But in the end, he really settled all the things. Decor and cake was under me. The decor was outsourced to thebabyonlineshop and Michael the person in charge and his wife were quite friendly and they did a pretty good job. The cake and cupcake was wonderful. It was done by Boopin's colleague Lirio. Thanks Boopin and Lirio.

The party went well except that we might have left out some guests cos there were too many people around and we could not speak to all. Think Amanda had a great time too. I am glad to have this party although it seems more like an adult's party. However, I hope Amanda will be pleased that she had nice celebration before and she was dressed like a princess that day although she will always be our little princess in our hearts (nevermind her "tomboyness").

Yes, I know I am a bit late.

Other mummies have been blogging way before their darlings are born and I have only just started. Actually, its not exactly that nothing has been done. There is an old blog for our dear baby Amanda at http://www.youbaby.weebly.com/ but it was not continued by the busy daddy who have another baby(aka his car) to take care of. (Please note that the previous blog was done by him ha), It just struck upon me one day after her first birthday that how much she has grown and I no longer could remember when she started crawling, when she first do this and that and I enjoyed reading other babies blog and learning about their development and yet I am doing nothing myself to note the milestones of my girl!(Yes, I am been a lazy mum if you cannot forgive my excuse of being tired all the time).

Okie let me update a bit on Amanda now. She is already 1 yr and 1 week old. Her actual birthday was 16 Feb. We had a "big" celebration for her which I will update in my next blog. She can crawl really fast, walk a few steps and refused to walk more. She still eats two porridge a day plus 3 times milk feed. I think she weighs about 10kg (my hand is the weighing machine) and height last measured one or two mths back abt 77 to 78 cm? I am happy with her development. Basically, she is a good baby who does not give us much problem with feeding. She finishes her food most of the time. The only problem I have with her is that she is hyperactive (yes, i know its common for babies her age to be so). Its really tiring to look after whole day. But on the other hand, I am happy that she is a happy and active baby. Think parents out there know what I am talking about.

Its been such a lengthly start. haha think there is so much to write about. I will update on her birthday celebration which happen on 15 Feb 09 in my next blog as well as her Xiao Yi birthday celebration in Timbre where Amanda had one minute of fame on stage haha.
