Poor English

My english standard has been dropping. In the first place, my english isn't that good either. I can easily spot MANY errors in my grammar after publishing the post on the blog.

I must remind myself to speak and write better and proper english because the way we speak will affect our child!

Busy Busy weekend

The weekend that has just passed was kind of packed.
Saturday 10 Oct 2009
It was the first lesson of LNT for the last term of the year. I have enrolled her in the 9am class this round due to some reason but then....... things did not go my way but anyway, Amanda still enjoyed the class pretty much.
After the class ended at 10am, we went for breakfast at the foodcourt while waiting for my mum to come to Toa Payoh to meet us to visit my paternal grandmother. My paternal grandmother is currently staying with my uncle. Everytime when I visit her, she would ask me if there is letter from my Dad. Sadly, each time I had to tell her no and I think it kind of struck her that my Dad might be gone for good. When we were leaving, my mum said she saw her teared.....................
We went over to my maternal grandmother side to fetch her before going to JB again ahha. This time we exited via Tuas checkpoint and came back via Tuas too. The route is more smooth but its much more expensive to go via this way. Total entry and exit cost us a total of about S$15 for Singapore and Malaysia toll. We went to the second largest Jusco in JB and it was kind of empty which was good as I hate to shop among crowds. We settle our lunch in the mall as it was raining and we had the Korean BBQ chicken which was available in Singapore as well (but of cos more expensive in SG). We did some grocery shopping before coming back to Singapore and went to Sembawang to buy the famous lasi lemak and had dinner at my mum's place before calling it the day. It was tiring man!
Sunday 11 Oct 2009
On Sunday morning, I had an appointment with Esther and her darling Cayenne to have breakfast at Causeway point Mac Donald. In the morning, I quickly vaccum our bedroom and TV room, changed the bedsheet , bathed Amanda and myself before leaving the house as I knew I won't have time later on in the day.
We reached there slightly before 10am and since Esther and Cayenne have not arrived, I found a table and waited. The manager there was very friendly. She went round chatting with customers and even asked me if I needed a baby chair. When I told her I needed two baby chairs as a friend is coming, she helped to arrange the table and chairs for me. It was good service! Soon Esther and Cayenne arrived and we ordered a set of big breakfast each. Cayenne really loves to eat big breakfast but this Amanda only ate a tiny weeny portion haizz, she was only interested in the ICE milo. In the end, I ate almost the whole set myself. Cayenne was pretty well behaved and was a little shy in front of us while this Amanda babbled non-stop.
After the hearty breakfast, we went to the library. The two girls were running around especially Amanda. Its a wonder why I never slimmed down haha. Even Esther commented that Amanda is really very active! Needless to say, we did not stay long there. We went to Popular after that but Amanda asked for milk. I had to feed her while Esther brought Cayenne to Popular first. After her milk feed, Amanda fell asleep and I went up to find Esther. Cayenne was sleepy too and I told Esther to go back first since I still wanted to shop around and wait for Amanda's Daddy to come and fetch us.
It was really nice catching up with Esther and its the first time we meet up with our girls! Previously, it was just meetup during lunch since our offices are nearby. Unfortunately, we did not manage to take any photos this round. I only managed to take two shots after Amanda woke up from her sleep.

Daddy came and fetch us at 2 plus. By then, my arms were breaking. Amanda has a new stunt recently. She will sit on the floor and says "pain, pain" and wants you to carry her. Sometimes, I really do not know what to do with her.
My mum told us its durain season now. Hence, we went to Chong Pang, bought some durains and visited hubby's grandparents, went home for a short rest, cooked Amanda's dinner, fed her and quickly went off to fetch my mum and sisters to go to JB (not again ahha) for dinner!
We went to Taman Sentosa for Zhi Char at the shop opposite The Store. The food was so so. We did not get to eat the grilled chicken wings it was famous for as by the time we finished the food, the chicken wings were still not ready and we decided to cancel order. We went to Giant, did another round of grocery shopping, pumped petrol before heading home! By the time we reached home, it was already going 11pm. By then, Amanda was real cranky. I quickly bathed her and fed her milk and soon she was asleep.
What a hectic weekend!

Surprise!

On Sunday, 4th October 2009, we went to Amanda great grandma's place (my maternal grandma) for dinner with my mum and sister. Amanda's grandaunt's family were there too.

Before leaving the house, I managed to tie up her hair! But her itchy hands pulled them off again and again until I gave up

We had a pleasant surprise at Amanda's great grandma's place because Amanda received a lantern from her! Nowadays, the lanterns are *high-tech*, not only is there music and colourful lights, the fish's fins can move and when you placed it on the floor, it can move around! Amanda was kind of captivated by it but kids being kids, she will play with it for a while and chuck it aside.

Having fun with her 1st lantern!

Mid Autumn Festival - 3rd October 2009

This is the Amanda's 2nd mid autumn festival (nearly wanted to type lantern/mooncake festival). We had dinner with Amanda's grandfather and greatgrandparents at this Zhi Char store featured on Channel 8 and gosh it was dammm crowded selling honeydew prawns ball and strawberry chicken. The food is not bad. After dinner we wanted to buy a lantern for her but could not find any we like at the shops around the Zhi Char coffeeshop. We went to NTUC and we cannot find any lantern on sale! Mummy was more disappointed than Amanda ahha but since it was quite late, we decided to forget about the lantern. On our way home, Daddy spotted some celebration at Bishan Park and decided to take a walk there.

Ah soh looking mummy with Amanda

Its quite smoky actually but the kids are having fun

Next year, we will bring Amanda to some park fully prepared with lantern and all. That's a promise!

Motherhood

Recently, my two good friends have given birth to their lovely princesses and enter into motherhood. This sort of evoke some thoughts/emotions in me as it seems just like yesterday that we were all young, innocent girls in secondary school, carefree (though got exam stress lah). Time really flies.
Being a mother is harder than I thought. I believe every mother have the same thoughts. Its a lifelong career and no turning back once you embarked on this journey. No doubt it sometimes drains you off totally and sometimes you just want to break free, but the immense happiness and satisfaction when you see your little grows and smiles will make you realise that all the sacrifices are worth it.
As I looked at Amanda, she has grown into a sweet little toddler. When she was borned, I was hoping she would grow up soon as its really tiring looking after a newborn. However, now that she has grown into a toddler, the tireness is still there (got to run after her) BUT I sort of miss the time she was a baby haha. What an irony I thought.
Recently, especially after reflecting upon myself on the times I flared up and screamed at her and the above thoughts , I resolve to enjoy and treasure every minute with her and her Daddy of cos and to keep my cool although THEY are both constantly testing my patience haha and also my time with my family.
Jia You all mummies and may all our darlings grow well and healthy!
