Furniture Hunting

I have mentioned earlier that my mum and sis are shifting. As they need to get some furniture and Amanda seemed to be okie after resting and sleeping the whole of Friday, we arranged to go to Sungei Kadut to look for furnitures there on Sat after Amanda's class at LNT.
While waiting for Amanda's Wai Por at Kranji MRT station, Amanda entertained her Ah yis.

"Ah yi, where is wai por?"

Singing session

Singing non-stop

"Hey ah yi u taking photograph of me?"

"Aiyo, why wai por still not here?"

"Lets sing again, if you are happy and you know it clap your hand"

"I saw Wai Por!, she is here!"

There are about 30 furniture shops at Sungei Kadut. However, we could only managed to cover about 5 shops and were all exhausted.

"I want to go there, that bed looks good"

Helping wai por to save $$ by changing the price tag

"so many furniture! "
The purple and white riding hood. They all look drunk and high don't they? hahaa
See my little teeth?
"hmm decision making time"
The "gung ho" look
At the end of day, they managed to buy 2 sets of bed with mattresses before we call it a day as our tummy were rumbling. Daddy had cravings for Pek Kio market prawn mee (we just ate yesterday) and drove all the way there but it was closed. In the end, we ended up in a coffee shop having Zi Char and the Ahsam curry fish was good! Yum Yum!

Flu Bug

Little Amanda was having slight flu on Wednesday. I gave her some flu medicine from her last visit t0 the doc. However, on Thursday night she seemed to be getting worse with her nose like a tap everytime she sneezed.....and worse still, she also had slight cough. Told MIL not to feed her anything cold or orange. Despite the flu, I was relieved that she was still eating well and active except that she could not sleep in the night probably due to the blocked nose.
On friday, took leave to bring her to the doc. Was given flu and cough medicine. Its a struggle to feed her medicine nowadays. One person had to pin her down, squeezed her mouth open and I quickly used the medicine dispenser thing to pour in the medicine (machiam like toturing her).
Daddy suggested using a spoon to feed her as he thought she might have phobia of the dispenser. True enough, when I fed her using the spoon, she happily drank it although she saw me pouring the medicine to the spoon using the dispenser. Babies can be so strange! and..........
Sometimes Daddy knows best!

The Beginning of Amanda

When I was preggy, we thought about what name shall we name our baby. Upon knowing the gender of baby, I started browsing through websites for baby names. Gosh! There are so many from alphabet A to Z that I was lost. Most people like to name their kids starting with the same alphabet..........and I thought maybe I shall name my number 1 beginning with alphabet A, number 2 with alphabet B and so on...

Hence, I did a search for names beginning with alphabet A and Amanda just stood out among all and its meaning is "worthy of love". Sounds great to me! However, Daddy thought he wanted a name with the meaning of smart or clever. I did a search again and the name that I found having this meaning and starting with A are all weird! To my horror, Daddy thought otherwise, he wanted the name "Akira" or "Akemi"!!??

No doubt their meaning matches, but I do not want to name my baby after a electrical brand "Akira", nor do I want her to be named after a bedsheet brand "Akemi" although a Taiwan model is also called Akemi. Haizz Men! To persuade him, I quote him the example of his two nieces whom where named with names with the meaning of quiet and active respectively. The one who was named with meaning of quiet is really talkative and the other one is really quiet, thus we better not name our girl with meaning of "clever, smart", lest it backfired ahaha.

In the end I gotten my way and saved my girl from future possible ridicule. Till now, I am still not sure if Daddy really think those names are great or just trying to be funny......... ya Daddy?

Attack!

Was reading mummy esther's darling Cayenne's favourite toy elephant and how she "tortured" its nose and could not help laughing. Amanda's favourite minnie mouse suffered the same fate too!

So do they love them or hate them??

Bored without her companion..........

Passed her minnie mouse and she happily hugged it, hey wait bit it!

Become so enthu abt biting that she sat up to bite it!

Harder!

And fling it!

& bite it again

and the result: a stinky wet minnie mouse!

Its Sunday!

Today, daddy was not working so decided to bring Amanda out together with Amanda's Ah ma aka my MIL. Hmm think I have not mentioned, we are staying with MIL and she was the main caregiver of Amanda while we were at work.I made a conscious effort to remember to bring the camera out today. Yeah made some efforts to take some pics of the places we went.

Amanda happy and all ready to go!

1st stop: Dim Sum at Victor's House at Sunshine Plaza.

It is a popular dim sum place opened by a Hong konger who personally made the dim sum there. Think it was featured in some TV shows. We went there before and loved the custard buns. Its been sometimes since we went there and it has somewhat expanded its tiny shop to a slightly larger shop(At least more seats). We ordered a total of 10 items plus 3 drinks and it cost us about $37. Its relatively cheap and the food is good but the service is a bit lousy.

Pics of some dim sum we have.Too pai seh to keep taking pics at the small place there.

Leaving sunshine plaza

2nd stop : Marine Parade
Its been a long time since I last went there. We visited Borders (MPH has closed down) and window shopped a bit in the shopping centre. Amanda had her lunch there too. Nowadays its really hard feeding her.*puke blood*

Eating her lunch

More interested in whats happening downstairs than eating her lunch

3rd Stop : East Coast Park
Brought Amanda there the second time.

what's that!?

I like!

Amanda and Mummy

Daddy holding Amanda. She loves to walk now.

Cool! I want to wakeboard too Mummy!

Finally, all tired and going home.

As i looked back the previous photos taken at East Coast few months back, ahah i realised they looked the same (even the clothing!) except Amanda has more hair now haha!

Taken few mths back!

Blogging

I am still not quite used to it and its not my habit to bring camera along and clicking it away whenever I am out with Amanda. However, as I have committed to doing this blog, I reminded myself I must remember to bring camera with me and be more hardworking in taking more pics. BUT I FORGOT to bring my camera out with me on Sat haizzz.

On Sat, Amanda had lesson at the Little Neuro Tree at Toa Payoh. Its a weekly lesson and I had sign her up for whole year. Lesson started at 10.30am till 11.30am. Recently, the class was full. When I first started, the class only had 3 students. Well, I shall touch on Little Neuro Tree (LNT) in my post next time.

Anyway, Daddy sent us there and waited for lesson to end. As he had to work that day in the afternoon, I arranged to meet my mum and sisters who had moved to somemore near me recently. We went to Causeway Point to jalan jalan and had dinner there. We had quite an enjoyable time and Amanda was the main entertainer as usual. Unfortunately, no pics haizz.

I foresee more outings to come since they are now staying quite near to me. Yeah!

Pics for BD Bash at JWT

Yes, I am late again. Some pics taken at JWT. Its really fun!
